TREVI Italian Restaurant Treats Teens at The Shade Tree in Las Vegas to Dinner and Gift Cards 11-19-2008 - More

TREVI ITALIAN RESTAURANT TEAM TO TREAT TEENS AT THE SHADE TREE OF LAS VEGAS TO SPECIAL HOLIDAY DINNER AND HOLIDAY GIFT CERTIFICATES

TREVI EMPLOYEES FORMED ‘COMMUNITY MAGIC’ TO OFFER ASSISTANCE

 TO THE LOCAL COMMUNITY

LAS VEGAS (November 19, 2008) – When TREVI Sales and Marketing Manager Lalana Daniels began the restaurant’s “Community Magic” campaign last year, the employees pitched in by raising money, collecting goods and helping a worthy cause.  TREVI, Bertolini’s Authentic Trattoria and Morton’s The Steakhouse in Las Vegas, all of the Morton’s Restaurant Group, collected hundreds of new items for the residents at The Shade Tree and joined in the organization’s “Walk for the Homeless.”  With the holidays right around the corner, the team is at it again by planning a dinner for 15 teens at TREVI on December 19, where each guest will be presented with a gift card to local department stores.

“The employees at TREVI want to continue the ‘Community Magic’ tradition of helping others in the community,” said Daniels.  “The Shade Tree is a worthwhile and valuable organization, and we want to help out by offering our support in making the holidays a little bit brighter.  We chose to focus on the teenagers, because that’s an age group that might not get as much attention around the holidays as the younger children.”

TREVI employees plan to raise between $600 and $1,000 for gift cards, and a “thermometer” hung on an office wall will mark the progress.

The teens will enjoy dinner on the patio or the “open kitchen” at TREVI, where The Fountain of the Gods and TREVI’s sparkling chandelier will make the holidays complete.  From appetizers and salads to mouthwatering entrees and decadent desserts, the teens will dine on the restaurant’s specialties prepared by award-winning Executive Chef Pete Scaturro.  General Manager Nick Catanella will greet the group and officially welcome them to the restaurant.

“This will be a great evening for the teens, because they’ll arrive here on a bus, visit The Forum Shops at Caesars and have dinner at TREVI,” said Daniels.  “It will be as wonderful an experience for the teens as it is for TREVI’s employees.”

Since 1990, The Shade Tree has served homeless and abused women and children, many of whom are victims of domestic violence, elder abuse, street violence, as well as female veterans, homeless youth and the physically disabled.  The only 24-hour accessible shelter designed specifically to meet the needs of women and children in Southern Nevada, The Shade Tree can serve as many as 364 persons.  As the largest shelter of its kind in the state, The Shade Tree provides approximately 70,000 nights of shelter each year.  All services are provided completely free of charge, regardless of the length of stay, removing any barrier that might prevent a woman from accessing necessary services for herself and her children.
